Morehouse College in Gay Controversy Over Disturbing Film Featuring One of Its Students


Most people would say that there’s nothing wrong with being gay.  But many of those people would say that there is certainly something wrong with being in a film that is of, shall we say, an “adult” nature.  Isiah Green, a resident hall director at Morehouse College, is in the middle of controversy after starring in such a film with Des Green, a man that some say is struggling with being on the down low.
The clip appeared on the blog, “Obnoxious TV,” and is getting the kind of buzz that Morehouse College probably doesn’t want.  The clip brings up tough memories of an on-campus battle over gay lifestyles and whether they are acceptable on campus.  Whether or not anyone thinks that that alternative lifestyles are good or bad, the fact remains that they are happening.
The clip is from a film called “Skin Deep,” and the film goes much deeper than the skin in both a physical and psychological way.    The men in the film were selected for having great physiques, and many of them were African American.  At the same time, the brainchild of the clip was a white man in an interracial gay relationship.
“I wanted to make it real as possible I did not want people to see this and be able to tell that I was not gay,” said Des Epps, one of the men in the film. “I wanted them to think I enjoyed the s*x and the kissing.”
According to Obnoxious TV, Isiah Green is a resident director at Brazil Hall at Morehouse.   This might keep the campus talking, but it appears that there are some tough issues that Morehouse is going to be forced to confront.  At the same time, Morehouse can’t be held accountable for every single thing that it’s students do.
