'Priests' arrested after police find guns, marijuana in home

Three men told police they were priests and refused to tell police their names, citing their religion, after officers found marijuana and handguns inside a Brunswick Drive apartment Monday, according to Elyria police.

Anthony Williams, 38, and James Lemroyal, 48, of 234 Brunswick Drive, were arrested after police went to their apartment on a complaint about the smell of marijuana from their residence was bothering neighbors, according to the police report.

Officers were met at the door by James Utsey, 28, of Elyria, and found several ashtrays filled with marijuana roaches. Williams and Lemroyal were also inside.

Each man initially refused to give police his name — Utsey identified himself Priest Ilataza, Williams as Priest Ish’ra’el, and Lemroyal as Priest Lammalak, and each told police it was against their religion to give police their birth name, the report said.
Police also found two handgun bullets on the living room table and two handguns, each inside a bookbag in the living room, one belonging to Utsey and another to Williams, according to the report.

Utsey told police he had purchased his gun from a gun shop in Lorain, and Williams said he had his wife buy his handgun for him. When questioning the men about the guns, police finally identified each of the men, and found that Williams and Lemroyal had outstanding arrest warrants.

Utsey told police the apartment belonged to their church, however no specific church was mentioned in the report. Lt. Chris Costantino said the department will follow up on the investigation.

“People can call themselves whatever they want, but one thing we do know, (two) of them had warrants for their arrest,” Costantino said. “Obviously, they were trying to conceal their true identities for a reason.”

Williams was arrested and charged with having weapons under disability, and on outstanding warrants through Elyria Municipal Court and the Medina Post of Highway Patrol. Lemroyal was arrested for a warrant through the Summit County Sheriff’s office. Utsey was issued a citation for drug paraphernalia.

Eze 22:26-  Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed [difference] between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Zep 3:4-  Her prophets [are] light [and] treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
