George Zimmerman And Trayvon Martin Costumes At Florida Halloween Party

Florida men dressing up as Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman for Halloween sparks online storm

An racially offensive set of Halloween costumes has caused widespread anger after they were published on social media on Friday night.
William Filene, 25, is dressed in blackface as Trayvon Martin, a splash of fake blood on his chest representing where the unarmed 17-year-old was fatally shot in the chest on February 2012.
Greg Cimeno, 22, is wearing a black T-shirt emblazoned with Neighborhood Watch. He portrays George Zimmerman, who was controversially acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges after a high-profile Florida trial in July.

The Smoking Gun reports that both men live in Cape Coral, Florida. Caitlin Cimeno reportedly lives in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Greg Cimeno commented 'Anything for the laugh' on Caitlin's posting. When some of her friends questioned the costumes by writing 'Not too funny,' Greg replied, 'Not too funny. It's f*****g hilarious!!!'

According to the Smoking Gun, Filene was sentenced to an auto theft felony in June. He reportedly has also got into trouble with authorities for loitering/prowling and failing to register an automobile.
When the images appeared online they immediately elicited an angry response from commenters, with many describing the images as offensive and insensitive.
One Twitter user wrote: 'I just saw a Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman Halloween costume. That is literally beyond disgusting. People make me so sick.' Other users defended the images as an original costume idea.
With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.
