Father dies protecting his daughter from a mentally-disturbed racist

A father is being hailed a hero for saving his daughter by protecting her from an unprovoked, racially-motivated attack.   Michael Tingling, the father of Masharah Tingling, was walking his daughter home from school when the two ran into a man with a lengthy criminal record.
Police say that the man leveled racial insults at Mr. Tingling and he protected his daughter by putting her behind him.  That’s when police say that the man stabbed the young girl’s father in the chest right in front of her.
From that point, the father collapsed and was taken to the hospital in full cardiac arrest.  The 59-year old man was announced dead at St. Francis Hospital an hour later.
The 8th grade girl was then forced to pick out a casket for her dad and also the clothes he would be buried in.
“I want him to have a proper funeral, to be buried the right way,’’ she said in a telephone interview with the Chicago Tribune.
Police have arrested the man who attacked Mr. Tingley.  His name is Joseph Firek, and he is being held on $250,000 bail and charges of first-degree murder.   He is also being charged with a hate crime.
Firek’s criminal record goes back to 1996 and he was living on disability benefits.  He also had mental problems and was receiving psychiatric treatment.  The girl says that she and her father were headed to buy a doughnut when the mentally disturbed man brushed against her and made an “inappropriate gesture” toward her.
That’s when he looked at the girl up and down and her father put her behind him, telling the man that he needs to “walk away.”
“The guy was just standing there grinning,” she said.
That’s when Firek, who is white, asked Tingling, “What n*gger?”  Then the fight took place.   Prosecutors say that Firek punched Tingling in the chest and the man then pushed him back.   As Tingling tried to leave the situation, Firek allegedly followed him.  That’s when the daughter called 911.
As the father approached an auto shop, he began to feel tired and they realized that he’d been stabbed.  The young girl pointed police toward the man who attacked her dad and they arrested him.
Tingling, who was pronounced dead an hour after the incident, died from heart disease and stress from the altercation, according to the Cook county medical examiner’s office.

Zephaniah 2:
1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's anger come upon you.

3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.

1 Peter 5:
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Luke 13:

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
