Luther Campbell: Al Sharpton’s a “Double Agent” Who’s Been “Bamboozling” the Black Community

In an editorial for the Miami New Times, Luther Campbell says he can’t understand why so many African-Americans seem either in shock or denial over revelations that “Rev.” Al Sharpton worked as an FBI informant after getting caught in a cocaine deal. According to Campbell, Sharpton has always worked as a double agent whose been successful at “bamboozling” the African-American community.
“He’s always been a government double agent, pretending to help black people when he really does nothing for them. Sharpton is a great showman who can get cameras to follow him around,” writes Campbell. “His job is to fool African-Americans into thinking someone is fighting for them.”
Sharpton is an expert at showing up at marches and rallies, but he’s never pushed lawmakers into making any substantive changes which will impact African-Americans over the long term. And as Luther Campbell points out, Sharpton vowed to lead the charge against Stand Your Ground laws after Trayvon Martin’s death, but hasn’t done anything but talk since the teen was slain.
“When he came to Florida following the murder of Trayvon Martin, Sharpton vowed he would lead the fight to repeal Stand Your Ground. Two years after the boy’s death, the law is still on the books. He promised to move to Chicago’s worst neighborhoods to fight the gun violence killing so many black people in the Windy City. According to a recent Chicago Tribune article, Sharpton leased an apartment in an affluent part of town and stays there only once a week,” writes Campbell.
Campbell says “two-faced” hustlers like Sharpton aren’t new to him because he dealt with them back when he was a DJ.  Campbell says he’s observed “flunkies” like Sharpton who come into a situation pretending that they’ve come to help resolve an issue, but really they’re just sent in by the powers that be to “keep black people in check.”
According to Campbell, that’s Sharpton’s job. He gets flown in by the white elite to talk and make black people feel good, but he never gets anything done.

MICAH 3:11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.

ISAIAH 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
