The South Florida "Pothead Princess" who allegedly tweeted "2 drunk 2 care" hours before killing two best friends in a wrong-way wreck in November was arrested Monday and booked into jail on charges related to the case.
Kayla Mendoza, 21, arrived at Broward Main Jail in a police-escorted ambulance and was wheeled inside on a stretcher because she is still unable to walk from the accident, according to local TV reports.
Mendoza kept her face covered with what looked like a black towel during the trip inside, as family members of her two victims looked on and, in some cases, recorded the event with their cell phones.
"I don't ever want her to feel the sunshine, ever," Christine Ferrante, whose daughter, Kaitlyn, was killed in the November wreck, told reporters. "I want her to stay locked away forever."

Family members of the other young victim, Marisa Catronio, said seeing Mendoza finally put behind bars offered a small measure of comfort.
"She changed the lives of our family forever," Catronio's father, Gary Catronio, told CBS Miami.
"You took my baby girl. You took my wife's best friend. You took my kid's older sister away," he said. "You made bad decisions that night. The right decision was to have a friend drive you home."

Mendoza, from Hallandale Beach, allegedly had a blood alcohol content of nearly twice the legal limit at 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 17 when she rammed her Hyundai Sonata head-on into Ferrante and Catronio's Toyota Camry while going the wrong way on the Sawgrass Expressway.
Catronio, who was in the passenger seat, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ferrante died from her injuries days later at Broward Health North hospital. They were both 21.
Hours before the crash, Mendoza allegedly blasted out a tweet that read "2 drunk 2 care."
