A church sign outside a small Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C., is attracting attention with a racially-charged accusation.
As WFMY News reports, the sign outside Macedonia Baptist Church reads:
"Ultimate Racism: Abortionists Target Black Babies."
Patrick Dye is the pastor of the church; and while he is white, he said he feels it is his obligation to speak out on the issue.
"I cannot be silent and just say that's somebody else's problem or I'm not dark enough to care about that issue. I can't do that," he said. "This is the crime of America."
The pastor points to a local Planned Parenthood clinic to make his point. There is a Planned Parenthood clinic on the edge of a predominately white neighborhood in Columbia, but still within walking distance of a black neighborhood, according to KLTV.
But Dye claims the family planing agency "purposely locates in minority communities."
"The Planned Parenthood clinic is located at the edge of a white community, but right there within walking distance of the housing project on Forest Drive and Two Notch Road," he told the TV station.
Planned Parenthood emailed KLTV saying it "tries to provide affordable and accessible health care and because of that, has clinics in many low-income areas."
The church sign in South Carolina echoes a refrain used in a controversial billboard in New York City last year which read: "The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb."
As The Huffington Post reported, the anti-abortion group Life Always paid for the billboard's placement near a Planned Parenthood office in Soho during Black History Month.
The sign was eventually taken down due to pressure from African-American leaders.
Isa 49:15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Isa 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause [them] to err; and [they that are] led of them [are] destroyed.
Jer 44:7 Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye [this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
Jer 12:10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
