SC church fire due to weather, not arson, investigation concludes

In a week that has seen  more than its share of church fires, there was speculation that a recent fire at yet another historic church in Charleston, South Carolina was the result of arson.  But investigators are saying that this was not the case at all.
According to MSNBC, law enforcement is proclaiming, after their investigation, that the fire at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church was due to weather, not arson.
A statement from the State Law Enforcement Division says that the investigation is now complete and they do not suspect foul play.   If their assessment is accurate, this is surprising to those who’d speculated on the origins of the fire. The case drew suspicion because the church is just 50 miles away from the “Mother Emanuel” church in Charleston where nine people were killed on June 17.
