Family Begs For Answers After Teenager Killed By Memphis Cop Who Thought He Was Someone Else

Teenager Darrius Stewart was shot and killed by Memphis police officer Connor Schilling in a case of mistaken identity. Schilling pulled the car Stewart was riding in over for a headlight that was not working, and Stewart was placed in the back of Schilling’s car over several outstanding warrants that were for someone other than Stewart.
Investigators claim that when Schilling went to handcuff Stewart, he kicked the door and attacked Schilling, grabbing his handcuffs and swinging them at him. The officer claims he shot Stewart to end the fight. Stewart was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition, and he died shortly after. Schilling was treated at the scene for minor scratches and bruises.
Family members are begging for answers after they report that police have not given them any information about what happened to Stewart. Stewart’s mother reports that he had been detained several months ago for the same issue of warrants that did not actually belong to him. She explained to WSMV, “They told him he could leave because he wasn’t the one they were looking for, but to be safe, because there is someone out there with the same name and lots of warrants.”

Genesis 4:8-12 (KJV)
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
