Three New Jersey teens evidently haven’t seen enough TV shows about ‘clever’ criminals. The trio got busted for trying to buy and sell guns and organizing other criminal activity over Twitter.
A jury in Essex County indicted the three on charges of trying to sell and buy weapons, and other gun-related crimes, using Twitter.

My, My, My: Johnny Gill Beaten Up by Drunk Racist at Hotel

R&B legend and New Edition member Johnny Gill is suing the Four Seasons Beverly Hills for negligence in protecting him from a drunk White patron.  According to reports, Gill was subject to racial insults and was beaten so severely that he could not perform on August 23, 2011.  The lawsuit was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Almighty Creflo Dollar Is Under Fire For Preaching About The Dollar… Again

Pastor and popular preacher, Creflo Dollar, recently made controversial statements about, you guessed it, money. Considering his history, and his name for that matter, this should no longer serve as a surprise but many are outraged.

The preacher’s account was updated on Wednesday evening with a post that read, “Jesus bled and died for us so that we can lay claim to the promise of financial prosperity.”

While Dollar has been accused many times before of promoting the prosperity gospel, this was the first time that he was the most obvious and blatant with his statements and beliefs. Soon, he found himself being mocked for the statement, which is clearly at odds with what many people believe is the Christian message.

Earlier this year Dollar outraged America after his private jet ran off the runway of Biggins Hill Airport in Kent. He then used this incident to request $65 million from his followers, creating something like a ‘Go Fund Me’ page.

Later the pastor was publicly criticized for his use of the pulpit to generate funds for his aircraft, to which he replied that the criticism was that of the Devil who was allegedly trying to “discredit him.”

Politically-charged Halloween statements have seldom been successful in the past - and this one is proving no different.

A family in New Jersey have upset some in the community of Butler for decorating their home with what they say is an 'anti-ISIS' theme, using a hanging mannequin representing a United States soldier and a terrorist standing nearby wearing a mask of President Obama and brandishing a machete.

Behind the scene is a depiction of Jordanian pilot, Lt. Muath al-Kasaesbeh in a cage. He was horrifically burned alive by ISIS after being captured following the shooting down of his jet fighter earlier this year.

While some neighbors have called the set-up 'tasteless and un-American', the homeowner said that real horror is more frightening than fake.

Fired Polish priest says no 'gay lobby' in Vatican

Rome (AFP) - A high-ranking Polish priest who was fired after coming out as gay before the Vatican's key synod on the family said on Sunday that there was no "gay lobby" in the Church.

Krzysztof Charamsa told a private Italian television channel that he has "never met a gay lobby in the Vatican", referring to rumours of a network of homosexual priests.

"I met homosexual priests, often isolated like me... but no gay lobby," said Charamsa, adding that he also met gay priests who were "homophobes" and had "hatred for themselves and others".

"But I also met several fantastic homosexuals who are some of the best ministers in the Church," he said in an interview due to be broadcast Sunday.

Charamsa said he wrote a letter to Pope Francis asking him to convey his spirit of openness to bishops at the synod, where Church leaders discussed marriage and family teachings.

The pontiff has in the past spoken about homosexuality and the "gay lobby".

In 2013 he famously said "Who am I to judge?" when asked about homosexuals in the Church, and the rumoured network of gay Vatican leaders.

Since 2005, the Church has forbidden the ordination of priests with homosexual tendencies.

DC mayoral staffer arrested for cocaine distribution

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A member of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's staff was arrested Tuesday for cocaine distribution, a source confirmed to WUSA9.

Lorenzo Sanders, 51, of Washington D.C. was indicted Thursday on a federal offense of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He is being held without bond pending a hearing on Tuesday.

Sanders is the staff assistant for the office of religious affairs. He has been placed on administrative leave and the termination process has begun, according to Bowser's office.

According to court documents, officers found more than 120 grams of cocaine during a raid on Sanders' house in the 5300 block of C Street SE. 10.8 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale, five cell phones and $2,000 in U.S. currency in a clear plastic bag was also recovered from his home, according to the documents.

Sanders son Dominick Saunders was also arrested during a simultaneous raid on his home in Temple Hills, Md. During that raid, officers recovered about eight grams of crack cocaine and a pistol.

NY school employee tells black fifth-graders to sit with white kids so they don’t look like a ‘gang in the hood’

An elementary school employee in upstate New York is under investigation by the school district after she told nine African-American children sitting together at a lunch table that they looked like a gang “in the ‘hood,” the Catskill Daily Mail reports.

The woman who has not been identified, is employed as support staff at Catskill Elementary. She had apparently taken it upon herself to approach a group of students sitting together and advise they mix with white students so they don’t look like a “black gang in the hood.”

The fifth-graders had asked to sit together because they happen to be part of the school’s student safety patrol. The monitors are by chance majority black, parent Celeste Jordan told the Daily Mail.

Jordan said the incident deeply upset her daughter, who was inconsolable and had to be picked up from school. The mother said she has complained to school officials, who assured her that the matter was being handled.

But Jordan wants to know why the employee hasn’t been put on administrative leave, saying the mere sight of her causes her daughter to get upset again. The girl has outbursts over it, has difficulty sleeping and now wonders “whether her white friends will still like her.”

Keeping the employee on campus is aggravating the situation, she told the Daily Mail. The woman is supposed to be separated from the students, but Jordan told the paper that hasn’t necessarily been the case.

Catskill Superintendent of Schools Kathleen Farrell told the paper that the investigation was nearing its conclusion.

Washington to overhaul its failed training program for Syrian rebels

The Obama administration is going to overhaul its $500 million training program for so called “moderate” Syrian rebels. The move is seen as an acknowledgement that it has failed to create a new combat force capable of fighting Islamic State on the ground.

“There is a pause being put in place, while we focus more on the equipping side of those groups that are in Syria now and have proven competent against ISIL [Islamic State, formerly ISIS/ISIL],” State Department spokesperson John Kirby told RT’s Gayane Chichakyan at a Friday briefing. Part of the program is being temporarily “shelved,” he added without giving specifics, saying the Pentagon is in charge.

“Sometimes you run into obstacles and challenges you didn’t know you were going to have or you couldn’t have predicted,” Kirby said. “I would also remind you that this particular aspect of the program is not being shelved forever.”

When asked about why the program hadn’t worked, Kirby said to ask the Defense Department.

“From this podium I am telling you that it’s a great question that you should pose to the Defense department. I think they’ve been very candid and frank over the last couple of months in particular about the challenges they have faced in terms of recruiting fighters for the program.”

Chinese navy looms as Russia strikes Syrian rebel

TEL AVIV – As Russia’s Caspian Sea fleet launched precision-guided cruise missiles at Syrian rebel positions, a Chinese naval vessel continued to loom menacingly in the background, maintaining its presence in the Mediterranean Sea amid Chinese denials that the People’s Liberation Army will enter the Syrian conflict.

 A Middle Eastern defense official affirmed the Chinese military ship is located a short trip of several “hours” from the Syrian coast. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that while China’s intentions are unclear, the vessel’s presence is well known to Middle Eastern and Persian Gulf countries as well as to the U.S. and Russia.

Dark-skinned Playmobil pirate-ship doll wearing ‘slave collar’ ignites outrage

A Playmobil pirate ship set has sparked a firestorm over a figurine that resembles an African American slave wearing a neck shackle.

Ida Lockett of Sacramento, Calif., said her 5-year-old son received the toy as a birthday present, and when she was helping him assemble it, she noticed the instructions — telling her to put a play shackle around the figure’s neck.

“This right here was found on his neck,” she told CBS Sacramento about the piece.

“You cannot have this specific accessory and call it anything else. The fact that you can Google it, look it up, say what it is — it’s a slave collar.”

The toy’s instruction manual shows a dark-skinned doll wearing no shoes, ripped pants and a tattered yellow shirt and directs the assembler to pop the silver piece around its neck. The ship appears to include a dungeon.

“It’s definitely racist,” Lockett told the CBS affiliate. “It told my son to put a slave cuff around the black character’s neck, and then to play with the toy.”

Raven-Symoné Said She Wouldn’t Hire Someone With A 'Black' Name

As a co-host on "The View," Raven-Symoné has made her fair share of offensive comments in the past -- and today was no different.

On a segment titled "Are You Judged By Your Name?" the former Cheetah Girl, donning a fire engine-red mohawk, said she wouldn't hire anyone with a "black" sounding name.

“Can we take back 'racist' and say 'discriminatory,' because I think thats a better word,"  she said while laughing. 12 Year Old Black Boy Suspended for Staring at White Girl, Court Upholds Decision

An Ohio court has upheld a school system’s decision to suspend a 12 year old black boy for staring at a white classmate.

  

According to Fox 19,  the 12 year old was suspended from St. Gabriel Consolidated School in 2014 after what he called a “staring contest.”

School officials at the private Catholic school claim the boy “intimidated” his classmate. The girl said she “felt fearful” while the boy was staring at her.

The boy’s parents filed suit in Hamilton County Common Pleas court to try and get the suspension erased, claiming that their son didn’t get due process.

“My son stared at a girl who was engaged in a staring game,” said the boy’s mother, Candice Tolbert. “She giggled the entire time.”

The boy said the girl never indicated that she was afraid.

“I never knew she was scared because she was laughing,” the boy wrote. “I understand I done the wrong thing that will never happen again. I will start to think before I do so I am not in this situation.”

Tolbert says the same girl was involved in a similar incident which was much worse but wasn’t punished.

“The same girl that accused my son of this act of perception of intimidation, aggressively poured milk on someone else’s lunch. When she did that there was no penalties for that. She received nothing for that,” she explained.

Prostitute Claims U of Louisville Paid Her To Provide Women To Have $ex With Players

Rick Pitino and the University of Louisville basketball program finds themselves in the middle of a sex scandal after a self-proclaimed prostitute, Katina Powell, has alleged that former director of operations, Andre McGee, who was also a former U of L basketball player, paid escorts to have sex with players, recruits and player’s guardians.

Powell has also alleged that head basketball coach Rick Pitino knew about the illicit business dealings which were to have happened over the last four years.

“How can it be going on for four years, that many people be involved and that many people see what’s going on and Rick Pitino doesn’t know anything about it?” Katina Powell said in a September interview with Indianapolis Business Journal reporter Anthony Schoettle

“You have players that are very, very loyal to Pitino,” she said. “And if they thought anything was wrong or anyone was going to get in trouble, I’m pretty sure they would have gone back to report to Pitino. When I would ask (U of L staffer Andre McGee), ‘Does Pitino know about this?’ he would laugh and say, ‘Rick knows about everything.'”

Schoolboy, 15, 'was cornered and stabbed to death by men in Mercedes'

Victim: Joel Adesina died from a stab wound to the liver

A 15-year-old schoolboy was tracked, chased, cornered in a dead-end street and stabbed to death by two men, the Old Bailey heard today.

Joel Adesina had been with a group of friends in Hoxton when he was chased by men from a blue Mercedes, the jury was told.

Donald Trump continues to court Second Amendment supporters in the wake of last week’s deadly shooting in Oregon, suggesting the teachers at Umpqua Community College should have been armed — just like he is.

“Let me tell you, if you had a couple teachers with guns in that room, you would have been a hell of a lot better off,” Trump said at a rally in Franklin, Tenn., on Saturday. “This is about self-defense, plain and simple.”

Vatican to hold Islamic prayers for the first time in history

On Sunday for the first time ever the readings from Quran will be heard at the Vatican. This move was initiated by the Pope Francis in order to bring peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

During his visit last week to Jordan Israel, and the Palestinian Authority, Pope Francis invited Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
